The meeting will have seen members being co-opted to fill four vacant positions – those of the vice-president (administration), secretary and two committee members.
“Our annual general meeting has been moved to 4 February due to late notification of members. We do not have a secretary and as a result the clubs and other affiliates only got the notice – which they are going through – last week. To hold a meeting of this nature one needs 14 days notice. The venue is still YWCA and we will start at 2pm.
“It is difficult to have only two people doing the association’s duties and that is why we have to co-opt other members to the executive,” said Manuel.
BVA president Sithabisile Khumalo has been handling the association’s operations with Manuel.
Khumalo assumed the presidency after Mxolisi Ndlovu was elevated to the Zimbabwe Volleyball Association for the treasurer’s position.
Committee members Memory Dube and Efnos Zvainaka relocated to Harare.
The annual general meeting will also be used to map the way forward for the new season.
Railstars, ZRP Raiders, Highlanders, Unit Fairbridge, Nust, The Greater Churchill, Midlands State University and ZPC (Hwange) are some of the clubs that are expected to attend the meeting.
