MOTOR ACTION yesterday handed Masvingo United their fourth home defeat of the season after dispatching the home side in this exciting Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Mucheke Stadium.
Masvingo United, who are in the middle of an industrial action by their players over outstanding winning bonuses and allowances which has seen their executive committee recently suspending more than 12 senior players, were no match for the fired-up Mighty Bulls.
The Harare side carried the day through a double strike by Allan Gahadzikwa, who scored either side of the break, and Gift Phiri.
Beaven Chirere scored Masvingo’s consolation goal in the 75th minute.
Gahadzikwa put the visitors ahead in the 36th minute after he capitalised on some poor defending by the home side’s defence to fire the ball past the bemused goalkeeper and Masvingo’s captain of the day Wonder Peperere.
Phiri extended the Mighty Bulls lead in the 50th minute when his blistering shot, from about 25 metres out, took a wicked deflection off Masvingo defender Patrick Sinamayi and sailed past the stranded Peperere.
Gahadzikwa grabbed his brace in the 54th minute with a beautiful cracker that left Peperere clutching thin air.
