medic and the final result were perhaps the only things worth noting in this scrappy Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match Luveve yesterday.
Ishmael Lawe fired a double before skipper Passmore Bernard added a third to give the Mighty Bulls maximum points.
But Motor Action are fast becoming the Premiership’s bad boys.
The Mighty Bulls chose to be in direct confrontation once more with the league when they donned jerseys which had no sponsors’ logo.
Their team manager was also doubling up as the medic while home side Quelaton, fielded an illegible player Zibusiso Sibanda who was allegedly given his marching orders in the 2-0 loss to Chicken Inn at the same venue last week.
The two clubs are now likely to be hauled before the league’s disciplinary committee to answer to charges of bringing the game of football into disrepute. PSL board member competitions Tawengwa Hara could not comment on the issue.
“We will wait for the referees’ report first because at the moment I don’t have any documentation,” said Hara.
The game itself started on a slow pace although the visitors showed early intentions of why they were at Luveve and could have gone ahead had their strikers been more alert in the 10th minute a porous and confused Winston Chiwetu, in goal for the hosts failed to hold a harmless looking cross but there was no one from the Bulls’ camp to punish him for that.
Dominic Mukandi and former Chicken Inn player Morris Kadzola put up good performances for the visitors’ central defence.
The opening goal saw three players involved in the execution, two from the visitors and Quelaton’s goalkeeper Winston Chiwetu.
A long cross came from the left side in the 21st minute, released by Yves Ebabali and Lawe had all the time to slice the ball past a static Chiwetu, who in all essence, should not have lasted the duration of the first half, later on the whole match. Lawe was to haunt the home side again in the 35th minute after some nice exchanges of passes from the Motor Action players saw an unselfish Gift Phiri laying the ball for him to coolly finish it off.
The second half saw the home side start purposefully as they literally camped in the Motor Action half but lack of composure and experience was their biggest undoing.
The third goal came in the 51st minute through skipper Bernard’s header who was found unmarked inside the box off a corner.
