AFTER dropping three albums and numerous singles over the past four years, Chipinge-based gospel sensation, Cloris Machuwaire, is ready to shake things up this year.
As part of her game plan, the youthful artiste revealed to Weekender Entertainment that she will produce new music videos, push and elevate her brand on both regional and international platforms.
The youthful musician whose music is getting popular by each day among the gospel music fanatics, thanks to her catchy, soulful and deep lyrics, said she is also preparing a new album, which she believes will be a game-changer.
With her sights set on global recognition, Machuwaire said she is ready to captivate new audiences, elevate her sound, and leave her mark on the world stage. Speaking through her manager, Margaret Chakandinakira, the artiste believes it is time for her to expand her reach and grow her fan base.
“It has been an incredible journey preaching through music. The support I am receiving from listeners across the country is truly overwhelming.
“This encouragement serves as a powerful motivation, pushing us to achieve even greater things. We are excited to announce that we are working on releasing our fourth album later this year.
“However, our primary focus this year will be creating captivating and life-changing videos as we set our sights on breaking into the regional and international music scene.
“Music is now my full-time profession. I am deeply dedicated to perfecting my craft, creating fresh music, and engaging with my audience through live performances, recordings, and other musical ventures.
“Music is not just a hobby for me, but my passion and livelihood. Coming from a musical family, I was immersed in a wide range of genres from an early age. My lyrics are rooted in real-life experiences, social issues as well as my cultural heritage. I find inspiration in my surroundings and personal challenges, and the stories shared by those around me,” she said.
Machuwaire said she draws her inspiration from gospel music greats like Blessing Shumba, Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, Pastor Charles and Amai Olivia Charamba.
She added: “In a few years to come, I see myself as a well-known musician, not just in Zimbabwe, but across the globe. I envision releasing multiple successful albums, collaborating with top international artistes, and gracing renowned music festivals worldwide.
“Despite the hurdles I face, such as limited resources and funding, I remain determined and hopeful. The highly competitive music industry makes it difficult to distinguish oneself and earn the recognition deserved.
