Bus conductor indecently assaults teacher in public

heard last week.
Andrew Vheremu (27) of House Number 19129 Unit L, Seke is said to have fondled Dambudzo Mhishi’s (38) breasts and grabbed her by the waist, without her consent.
Chitungwiza magistrate Mrs Jessie Kufa remanded Vheremu out of custody to May 20 on US$50 bail.
Prosecutor Mr Luke Mutupe said on March 15 this year, Mhishi was at Chirunga turn-off market in Unit L, Seke, buying airtime when Vheremu came and grabbed her from behind.
She did not respond at first as she thought it was her daughter.
Mhishi was alerted by other people present, and she turned only to discover it was Vheremu.
When she challenged Vheremu, he went on to fondle her breasts until other customers restrained him.
After that Vheremu started chasing after Mhishi’s daughter for unknown reasons and was also restrained by passersby.
“I was notified by other customers about Vheremu’s actions.
“I then turned and smelt beer and discovered that it was not my daughter.
“I asked him what he was trying to do and he went on to fondle my breasts saying he was sorry,” Mhishi told the court.
Her 10-year-old daughter who witnessed the incident also testified in the court.
Vheremu is denying the allegations, claiming that he was drunk that day and did not know what happened.
