A STALLION Cruise Bus driver, whose image – using a cellphone while he was driving – circulated on social media has been arrested.

Lordsher Mushipe, 46, of Ascot in Gweru, is set to spend Independence Day in custody at Mbare Police Station.

Police could not immediately be reached for comment.

However, H-Metro is reliably informed that Mushipe is facing charges under the Road Traffic Regulations (Statutory Instrument 299 of 2002) for allegedly driving a vehicle while using or operating a mobile cellular phone or any other communication device.

A video recently trended on social media showing Mushipe driving a bus while on a video call.

The incident reportedly occurred along Harare-Bulawayo Road.

One of the passengers was said to have recorded the driver and posted the footage online.
