He also highlighted Government’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurs, citing the Government’s efforts to create a conducive business environment.

“Let’s continue to build bridges across sectors, to build businesses that transform communities to drive inclusive growth that strengthens our nation. That is how we will achieve Vision 2030-a prosperous and empowered upper middle-income economy, leaving no one and no place behind,” said Vice-President Mohadi.

The Sundrive Summit is a platform for fostering growth, innovation and collaboration, recognised outstanding businesses in various sectors.

Vice-President Mohadi said the Government shall continue supporting upcoming and existing entrepreneurs, urging businesses to take advantage of opportunities and contribute to Zimbabwe’s economic growth.

“This summit embodies a truth that lies at the heart of the Government’s vision — that success of any Government is not in itself, but in its people. We are here today because we believe in you, the businesspeople of Zimbabwe, you are job creators, the innovators, the risk takers and the dreamers,” he said.

“My presence here is a clear message that the Second Republic fully supports entrepreneurship at every level, from small to medium enterprises to the captains of industry steering large investments.

“You are the custodians of a prosperous Zimbabwe and your role in shaping our economy cannot be overstated. Let me emphasise that Zimbabwe is open for business and do not take where you are today as your rooftop-it is your foundation for even greater achievements. Keep aiming higher and keep innovating”.

The event showcased Beitbridge and Matabeleland South’s potential as a hub for business and investment, with Vice-President Mohadi’s presence lending credence to the Government’s commitment to the region’s development.

The Vice-President added that the country’s doors for opportunities were open and that the Government was undertaking a number of reforms including creating investment incentives and streamlining registration systems as part of the ease of doing business concept.

He said already the Ministry of Finance and Investment Promotion was working closely with relevant ministries and agencies, introduced reforms that make it easier to start and grow businesses in the country.

“These include the drastic reduction or complete removal of many fees that had previously burdened entrepreneurs. For example, small and medium farmers’ certificates, Zinwa (Zimbabwe National Water Authority) abstraction fees and several mandatory permits have been scrapped altogether,” said Vice-President Mohadi.

“Fees on agricultural export permits, meat export registration, livestock movement clearances and health certificates have been significantly reduced.

“These changes are not just numbers — they are a clear demonstration that the Second Republic listens, acts and stands with the people. They reflect our commitment to ease the cost of doing business, to stimulate production and to ensure that every entrepreneur has a fair chance to thrive.”

He emphasised that Matabeleland South province remained the country’s most strategic regions that is rich in investment opportunities in mining, agriculture and tourism.

The Vice-President added that the province was also a gateway to regional trade anchored by major borders such as Beitbridge, Mpoengs and Plumtree, connecting the country with South Africa and Botswana.

He added that the Government will continue upgrading vital infrastructure such as the border post and road network, expanding energy services and improving digital connectivity to make Matabeleland South a key player in regional and national development.
