AWARD winning local entrepreneur and event planner Mr Kudakwashe Moyo, popularly known as KD the Event Planner, is expected to host the fourth edition of the Business Manoeuvre, this Saturday.

According to Mr Moyo the engagement platform is designed to bring together key players from the business community to discuss emerging opportunities and challenges within strategic sectors of the economy.

The event, which is expected to be held at a local hotel, will draw participation from representatives of the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals operating within and around the mining industry.

Mr Moyo said the initiative seeks to create a structured forum for meaningful dialogue and knowledge sharing among industry stakeholders.

“The Business Manoeuvre seeks to curate a series that brings business leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals together in one powerful space,” said Mr Moyo.

“It serves as a platform for meaningful conversations around relevant topics shaping industries. We believe that when people from different sectors gather to share ideas and experiences, it becomes easier to identify opportunities, address challenges and build partnerships that can drive economic growth.”

He said the platform has steadily grown in stature since its inception, attracting interest from various sectors, particularly those keen on exploring opportunities in Zimbabwe’s resource-rich mining industry.

Mr Moyo said the fourth edition will place particular focus on issues affecting mining sector operations, especially regulatory frameworks, financial obligations and the broader outlook for the industry.

“Guided by esteemed panellists and industry voices, attendees will engage in thought-provoking conversations, exchange insights and gain practical perspectives that drive growth, strategy and impact,” he said.

He added that the presence of officials from the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development is expected to provide participants with an opportunity to gain clarity on key policy and operational matters affecting mining businesses.

According to Mr Moyo, the ministry is expected to deliver remarks centred on compliance requirements, licensing procedures and fiscal obligations required to establish and operate a legal mining venture in Zimbabwe.

“Among the issues expected to be discussed is Compliance and Licensing, where ministry representatives will outline the step-by-step requirements for establishing and running a legally recognised mining operation in the country,” he said.

This segment is expected to provide guidance to both aspiring and existing mining entrepreneurs on how to navigate regulatory processes, acquire necessary documentation and ensure adherence to legal frameworks governing the sector.

Mr Moyo said another key area of focus will be fiscal obligations, where officials are expected to provide a comprehensive overview of the charges, application fees and statutory levies that operators are required to pay in order to remain compliant.

The discussion is anticipated to shed light on the financial responsibilities that mining companies and small-scale operators must meet, while also helping potential investors understand the cost structures associated with entering the sector.

Mr Moyo said the session will also explore the future outlook of the mining industry, including policy developments and other updates aimed at improving the ease of doing business.

“The ministry is expected to share insights on any other policy updates relevant to the sector, including initiatives meant to strengthen transparency, promote responsible mining practices and enhance the overall investment climate,” he said.

Zimbabwe’s mining industry remains one of the country’s most important economic pillars, contributing significantly to export earnings, employment creation and industrial development.
