A businessman landed in hot soup after he allegedly threatened to shoot his business rival after bumping into him at a popular drinking spot in Chitungwiza.

Masimba Rubatika 64 of Hatfield, was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Simon Kandiero who released him on US$150 bail.

He is charged with threats to commit murder.

The court heard that Rubatika and the complainant, Paul Chakangesu have an ongoing dispute over boundaries on their stands.

Last month, Chakangesu made a report of Criminal Trespass against Rubatika.

Rubatika bumped into Chakangesu over the Heroes holiday at Leisure Centre in Chitungwiza.

It is alleged that Rubatika produced a pistol from his car and threatened to shoot Chakangesu and only returned the firearm to his vehicle after he had apologised.

Thomas Chanakira appeared for the State.
