WESTPROP Holdings chief executive, Ken Sharpe, on Friday handed his award, for “Businessman Of The Year,’ to Nakiso Boreholes owner, Lincoln Masiyanyama.
Sharpe has been charmed by the life story of Masiyanyama, who started as a street vendor, bus conductor and courier to eventually become an owner of a borehole company now employing over 80 people.
He believes the award will inspire Masinyama, whom he calls his friend, to do even more and excel in his line of business.
WestProp Holdings were awarded the prestigious Zimbabwe Institute of Management ‘Private Sector Award of the Year’ award while Sharpe was recognised as the ‘Businessman Of The Year’ award.
Sharpe surprised the guests when he passed his award to Masiyanyama.
He also dedicated his award to his wife, Joanna Sharpe.
“I would like my friend Lincoln to hang this award in his office so that he gets inspired to win the same award one day,” said Sharpe.
“The young people of our country give me hope and he is part of that better future.”
Masiyanyama was the runner-up in the Young Leader of the Year award.
WestProp has this year won local, regional and international awards based on its huge impact in the housing sector and astute marketing of its products and Brand Zimbabwe.
Sharpe has scooped all the important excellence awards in business leadership.
He is a household name at public and private events where he is constantly being invited to share his business acumen and leadership skills.
