IN a heart-warming display of compassion, a Harare Ward 18 community leader, who is also a prominent member of the Borrowdale Residents and Ratepayers Association, has donated over 500 jerseys to vulnerable families at Ecosoft Farm.

Dr Angelina Nyatanga, under the Zimbabwe Association of Women in Industry (ZAWI) banner, donated over 500 jerseys to provide them with some respite from the biting winter cold.

Dr Nyatanga’s initial plan was to donate 400 jerseys but the overwhelming response prompted her to extend her generosity, ensuring that over 82 families are set to benefit from the donation.

“This is purely passion-driven, so this is exactly why I decided to start this organisation, just to be part of my community.

“There is no competition in giving, the feeling is just fulfilling,” said Dr Nyatanga.

Some of the beneficiaries said the impact of Dr Nyatanga’s act of kindness would go a long way.

“We are really grateful for her in this community, the jerseys that she gifted us will go a long way and we hope she shows this kindness to other communities as well,” said Gogo Mamoyo.

Despite arriving after the distribution had ended, Gogo Mamoyo’s despair turned to tears of gratitude as she was gifted with two jerseys.
