Zimbabwean female housemate in the Big Brother Africa – Hotshots, Butterphly, is up for eviction together with five other housemates. Butterphly, real name Tariro Mhararapara, was nominated for eviction on Monday night by Head of House, Idris.

The other five housemates who are up for eviction include Ellah (Uganda), Frankie (Rwanda), Nhlanhla (South Africa), Permithias (Namibia) and Trezagah (Mozambique).

This year’s nomination is different from previous editions. After housemates group task, the losing team will automatically be on the nomination list with those with highest votes being up for eviction.

Butterphly has been added on the list although the country was safe from nomination after being part of the winning Downtown Beats team in last week’s Extravaganza Task.

To make it worse the radio deejay is in dark as she doesn’t know that she is up for eviction.

Again the question on everyone’s lips is: Will she survive on the list which has been dubbed ‘survival of the fittest’, as the nominees are some of Africa’s favourites?

Will, she up her game or remain on the low cool profile just like former Zimbabwean housemate Wendall Parson who later emerged as the winner?

With this year’s theme, “Hotshots – It’s All About Swag”, some show fanatics have said the single mother has to change her strategy.

“It is just she is lucky because her team was always winning on the Extravaganza Show. Sunday will tell how strong she is but as for Zimbabwe we are also counting our votes from Malawi and Botswana because the previous evictions we helped them. Let’s vote for Butterphly. Zimbabwe we know we can do this, just check on how JJ has survived,” said BBA fan Lorna Niasher.

In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, last Sunday’s evicted housemate from Rwanda, Aurthur said he had hope on Butterphly.

“I can put my money on Butterphly, JJ and Nhlanhla among others as the housemates who win the BBA. It was great experience for me and have learnt a lot. The show makes you grow and defines the inner you. I will definitely go back to modelling and try to use the skills I noticed I have,” he said.

Sunday night’s nominations are Trezagah, Ellah, Frankie, Nhlanhla and Permithias.

Trezagah makes his second appearance on the nomination list, while this is Nhlanhla’s third time in the firing line since launch. It is a case of new week, same old problems for Ellah and Permithias though, as they appear on the nominees’ list yet again.

Perhaps Ellah’s friendship with Sunday evictee Kacey Moore is weighing on the housemates’ minds, and maybe Permithias’ golden voice is losing its magic.

Samantha also said that of all the people eligible for nomination, she knew Trezagah the least. The other housemates who picked up nominations but are not in danger this week are Samantha, Macky, M’am Bea and Goitse.

Monday’s Head of House task delivered a heady dose of irony after Idris kept his cool in the challenge to see last week’s winner JJ hand over the medallion. JJ was in charge of Idris’ punishment last week after he broke a door, and it will be interesting to see if the Tanzanian exacts any sort of revenge this week.
