Residents in Ward 3 Seke under the Manyame Rural District Council were all smiles on Wednesday after Local Government and Public Works Minister Daniel Garwe commissioned Bwoni Clinic, which was built using devolution funds.

The clinic will reduce the distances that people within the ward have been walking to get to the nearest health facility.

Minister Garwe also commissioned a fire tender and 25 motorbikes for councillors. Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Garwe commended the local authority for channelling devolution funds towards uplifting the living standards of its people.

He said these projects show that the Second Republic under President Mnangagwa walks the talk when it comes to improving the livelihoods of the people.

Minister Garwe said Vision 2030 is possible when development is prioritised even in rural areas and also when people access vital services closer to their homes.

Mashonaland East Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Advocate Itayi Ndudzo, who was represented by Director Finance, Administration and Human Resources in his office, Mr Douglas Dzukwa, said the clinic will significantly improve access to health by the people.

“The clinic has been made possible through the dedicated support of the Manyame Rural District Council, utilising devolution funds to enhance our healthcare infrastructure,” he said.

“This facility will serve the people of Muungani, Chirenda, Chikowore and our own Bwoni Village, significantly improving access to health care.

“We are also proud to witness the commissioning of a fire tender and 25 motorbikes for our councillors. These resources will greatly enhance their ability to serve our communities effectively. “We commend the Minister of Local Government and Public Works for championing these initiatives, which align seamlessly with the vision of President Mnangagwa.”
