ARTS enthusiasts who won’t make it to the second edition of the Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards will this year get an opportunity to be part of the prestigious event, with organisers revealing that they will be broadcast live on ZTV.

The awards ceremony which is already the talk of the town is set to be held at the Large City Hall on Saturday. Organisers have revealed that they recently clinched a deal with the national broadcaster to screen live the event on ZTV while their new baby, Khulumani FM will also be broadcasting the event live.

One of the organisers, Nkululeko Nkala said they were excited about the partnership with ZBC as they would get to show the rest of the country what the awards were all about.

“Besides showing the whole nation what we are capable of as Bulawayans, the live broadcast will give an opportunity for those that cannot afford to be at the event to follow on television. Further, businesses can all also take advantage of this by advertising during the live broadcast as they will be assure of catching a huge audience as we are positive of a huge following,” said Nkala.

He further revealed that those outside the country will also get an opportunity to follow the awards through a number of livestreams with the main one being the Centre of Innovation and Technology (CITE).

On preparations for the actual event, Nkala said they were now ready to deliver and people should expect a mouthwatering experience, as the ceremony will not just be an awards giving event but will be entertainment, with a number of groups set to perform.

“We are putting final touches to the presentations of the night and my promise to people is that they will get their monies worth. However, before the actual event we will have the nominees dinner to be held on Thursday. What we saying is that the nominees should feel that this event is about celebrating them hence they deserve to be pampered. During the dinner the nominees will get an opportunity to interact with our sponsors and members of the media,” said Nkala.

Meanwhile, the main presenters during the red carpet event were unveiled last Thursday. They include socialites; Mbo Mahocs, Gilmore Tee, Morris Touch, Star FM’s Phathisani Sibanda, Tsitsi Gumbo, Nyasha Diva Mutamangira and Master E.
