BULAWAYO CITY returned to winning ways with a hard fought 3-2 victory over ZPC Kariba in a match played at Hartsfield.
A first half penalty by striker Mkhululi Moyo had Amakhosi 1-0 up at half-time. Francisco Zekumbawira made it 1-1 before Moriss Kadzola made it 2-1 to Bulawayo City. ZPC Kariba refused to back down with Godknows Mangani bringing them level at 2-2 with a penalty. Goalkeeper Ndodana Sibanda ensured Bulawayo City of the three points from the penalty spot, the third awarded by referee Happy Mabhena in the match.
ZPC Kariba piled on the pressure in the last few minutes of the encounter as they sought an equaliser but the home side held on for their ninth win of the season.
Bulawayo City coach Mandla “Lulu” Mpofu described the fixture as one of the toughest in his coaching career and described it as a huge achievement for him to record victory over veteran mentor Sunday “Mhofu” Chidzambwa. City and ZPC played at 1 pm, before the Chicken Inn and How Mine game which kicked at 3 pm.
