FOLLOWING the disturbances that punctuated the country a fortnight ago, Bulawayo Metropolitan Cricket Association’s First, Second and Third Leagues’ action resumes on Saturday.
The games were initially set to start last weekend.
“We were affected by demonstrations that took place in the country. The disturbances affected our pitches because there was no one watering them,” said Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) Bulawayo provincial administrator Nicholas Singo.
In the association’s First League, Queens Cricket Club will welcome fellow seasoned campaigners Emakhandeni Cricket Club.
Roosters will fight it out against Bulawayo Athletic Club at BAC.
Second League action will see Queens Sports Club 2 meet Emakhandeni 2 at Bulawayo’s home of cricket- Queens Sports Club- while Nketa Cricket Club face Gampu Lions at the same venue.
In a battle of university lads, Nust will do battle against Lupane State University at the Heath Streak Academy.
The match between Champions and Glenkara set to be played at BAC will headline the association’s Third League action.
This will be followed by a meet between BAC 2 and Cheetahs at the same venue.
Thereafter, ZRP will do battle against Bulawayo Polytechnic.
The league is expected to end in mid-April.
