THE business community in Bulawayo meets today to discuss developments in labour relations and its impact on the economy.
Organisers say the event, to be held at a local hotel, would see participants discuss topical labour relations issues such as progress on the Labour Amendment Act, the law and rulings by labour officers on different matters.
There will also be a session to discuss the ripple effects of the Zuva Judgment, which sparked widespread termination of contracts for thousands of workers on notice since 2015, as well changes in retrenchment laws and impact on discipline handling.
There will be a special session to look at 2016 Labour Court Judgments with special focus on the effect on common law on application of codes of conduct.
Stratways Management Consulting, a local labour consultancy firm is coordinating the event, which is also expected to attract human resource managers and labour union leaders.
