Byo hosts high profile IAAF course

A total of 20 athletics technical officials drawn from the country’s 10 provinces have converged on Northlea High School in Bulawayo for an international high level IAAF Technical Officials Education and Certification System (TOECS) Level 1 Course.
The course started yesterday and it will run until Wednesday. The course facilitator is Enias Nhoro, the National Athletics Associations of Zimbabwe vice-president in charge of development.

Nhoro is one of the only three Level One TOECS lecturers in the Southern Region with the other two coming from Mauritius.
According to Nhoro, the course is meant to develop officials in terms of procedures as well as look at the updated IAAF rules, and also to look at interpretation and application of the rules.

Some of the objectives of the TOECS course is to provide participants with the theoretical and practical training to make them competent to officiate at local, regional, national and exceptionally, at international competitions held within their country.
