BULAWAYO model and television personality Arthur Evans has made the top 30 of the “Presenters Search on 3” SABC 3’s reality TV show. This year’s “Presenter’s Search on 3” is in tribute to Zimbabwean “Top Billing” presenter and 2010 Presenter Search winner, Simba Mhere who died earlier this year. The reality show seeks to fill in three slots on SABC. The other two slots are for the breakfast show Expresso and for a magazine programme which SABC 3 is planning to introduce.
Should Evans be successful, he could be the one to replace Mhere as a presenter on Top Billing.
With thousands of potential presenters from all parts of South Africa, the model and former ZBCtv news anchor, who is now based in Johannesburg, managed to sail through to the Top 30, alongside former Miss South Africa Ziphozakhe Zokufa who is also running for the post. They were grilled by judges, Bonang Matheba, Jeannie D — both of “Top Billing” and Phat Joe of “Real Goboza”.
The 30 will be further trimmed to 10. The final 10 will have to go through multiple challenges designed to test them both physically and mentally. The ones who will stand out with confidence and charisma befitting a savvy presenter will earn any of the three presenter posts.
Evans, the 2002 Christian Brothers College head boy, is married to Lorna and has a daughter named Jessica.
