ZANU PF Bulawayo Province has resolved to support President Mnangagwa’s continued leadership beyond 2028, with all five District Co-ordinating Committees making it their top resolution ahead of the party’s 22nd National People’s Annual Conference set for Mutare next month.
The resolution was announced yesterday by Zanu PF Bulawayo chairperson Cde Jabulani Sibanda during a Provincial Co-ordinating Committee (PCC) meeting held at the party offices to consolidate resolutions from the districts.
Cde Sibanda commended the unity among the province’s DCCs, noting that despite varying numbers of resolutions from each district, a singular message emerged as paramount.
“We have districts in various DCCs, from DCC One to DCC Five, in our province where we have been doing resolutions and looking at things we want the party to do,” he said.
“First, I am very proud of you because of the unity you showed during the inter-district meetings in your various DCCs. Your resolutions were not given numbers, like we want 20 or 10 resolutions per DCC, instead, you made resolutions based on what you thought was necessary.”
Cde Sibanda said although the number of resolutions differed, they all said the same thing.
“But there’s one resolution that is very important to our party, one that became number one in all our DCCs.”
Cde Sibanda said the decision to endorse President Mnangagwa was based on the party’s core belief in a unified leadership.
He linked the decision to the party’s fundamental ideology, arguing that a single, strong leader is essential for a cohesive and successful organisation.
“You should know that we worship one God who made us one world. In that one world, He gave us one continent.
“In that one continent, He gave us one country. In that one country, we are one nation. In that one nation, we have one revolutionary party, which is Zanu PF.
“In that one revolutionary party, we have one revolutionary President, Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa”.
Cde Sibanda hailed the consistent messaging from the grassroots structures.
“I’m very proud that in all the DCCs, your number one resolution is the same: that by 2030, the party, the Government, and all its institutions must recognise that the President must still be serving as the President of our country,” he said.
Cde Sibanda said underscored the importance of unity and consistent leadership for the revolutionary party to achieve its goals, drawing parallels with the nation’s journey since independence.
“The unity of our people, when we talk about people as a united Zimbabwean nation, what I’m saying is this: In our country, like any other country in the world, in every sphere; whether it’s western, eastern, southern, or northern, in every country, there are people who speak different languages, but they belong to one nation; they make one nation.
“For the people in a nation, they have got one leader at a time,” he said.
Cde Sibanda reminded members of the party’s history, from liberating the country in 1980 to the Land Reform Programme in the 2000s, portraying these achievements as successive stages of a continuous revolution.
