Byo Province confident over Nash competitions

“Last year, we came sixth out of 10 provinces and that was not good enough but this time we want to underline our intent by making a top three finish.
“We are leaving early today so that we can have time for our last  exercise later today before the competitions start tomorrow,” he said yesterday morning.

The Bulawayo team was camped at Milton High School since Sunday last week where they had their intense practice sessions under coach Mbonisi Ncube.
Services of athletics guru Bhekuzulu Khumao of Sparrows Athletic Club were secured and he had time with the athletes for their drills.
Today, provinces will battle it out in cross-country and field competitions with  tomorrow seeing provinces doing track events.
Meanwhile, Mashonaland East, who are the defending champions,  were upbeat ahead of the national competition when they passed through Bulawayo on their way to Plumtree on Sunday.

Their sports director, who only gave her surname Tapfumaneyi, said her team was going to defend their crown and they were well prepared to do that.
“We are the defending champions and we know what it takes to be triumphant and in this year’s edition we are going to defend our championship and the athletes have trained well and I am confident that we will be champions again,” she said.
