Bulawayo is set for a night of glamour, music, and celebration as socialite Vusumuzi Sibanda, popularly known as “The Doc” or “Black Italian, Igish lama Gosh”, hosts a star-studded All-Black Birthday Party at Olympus Lounge this Saturday.

The evening promises to be unforgettable, with special performances by Otis “The Flow” Fraiser and South Africa’s DJ Mpho.

Sibanda, a veteran of Zimbabwe’s entertainment scene, has been running clubs for nearly 23 years. Reflecting on his career, he shared,
“My journey in nightlife began as a club host and DJ at Paparazzi Night Club in the early 2000s. After four years, I moved on to Hustlers Night Club and also specialised in organising fashion events across the country, from Hwange and Victoria Falls to Kariba, Harare, and Gweru.”

Reflecting on the evolution of the club scene, Sibanda noted, “The lifespan of clubs has changed dramatically. In the past, clubs lasted around five years, but today, two or three years is the maximum. Club life creates friendships but also your fair share of enemies; it’s a dynamic experience.”

He also explained the origins of his well-known monikers.
“The name ‘Black Italian’ comes from my love for epic fashion and style, inspired by designers like Fabio and Vialli. ‘Gish lama Gosh’ reflects my appreciation for the finer things in life,” he said.

Known for his lively and memorable events, Sibanda promised the night would be full of music, great company, and plenty of fun.
“Whether you’re a friend or simply looking for an amazing night out, this All-Black Birthday Party is not to be missed,” he said.

In keeping with the exclusive birthday theme, attendees are required to dress in all black.
“The dress code is strictly all black, from clothes to shoes. It’s an evening of elegance and unity, so dress to impress.”

The event will kick off at 6pm and run late into the night, welcoming all party-goers eager for a sophisticated, music-filled celebration.
