WARRIORS fringe striker Lucky Mkosana’s BYS Academy will hold its second annual tournament at Plumtree High School on November 24.
Six teams namely BYS Academy, Marula Primary, Tshankwa Primary, Nyabane Primary, St Francis High and Bhangane Academy are set to take part in the tournament.
The United States of America-based striker said the reason behind the initiative is to give back to the community especially the underpriviledged and help players to reach their maximum potential on and off the field.
“The goal is to give these youngsters a platform to go to the US and try to improve these kids so that they can be good players,” said Mkosana.
The Penn FC player feels kids in rural areas are not given opportunities to showcase their talent and are not offered enough coaching.
Mkosana said they have partnered with an academy called Rush Soccer and they will stream the tournament live on Facebook.
“Our partners are going to watch the games live on Facebook. I hope the young kids will get a chance to get scholarships and go to the US,” Mkosana said. – @DecoDecent2
