ZANU PF says it is buoyed by the high turnout and enthusiastic support from party members, affiliates and other stakeholders for Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3.
Director for Information and Publicity, Cde Farai Marapira, said the strong public outpouring of support at the public hearings vindicated the party’s position.
“As a party, we feel vindicated by the strong public outpouring of support at the hearings. While dissenting voices were present and we acknowledge them, the majority clearly carried the day,” said Cde Marapira.
He commended all provincial structures for their overwhelming support during the public hearings.
Cde Marapira encouraged those who did not take part in the public hearings to submit written submissions regarding the Bill to the Parliament of Zimbabwe by May 17 this year.
Submissions, he said, can be emailed or delivered to the Parliament building in Mt Hampden following the conclusion of public hearings held between March 30 and early April 2026.
Meanwhile, ZANU PF Harare Provincial Political Commissar, Cde Voyage Dambuza, commended party members for coming out in large numbers during the just-ended public hearings.
“I want to thank our members who came out in their numbers to attend the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill hearing held by the Parliament of Zimbabwe. I am grateful for the overwhelming support they showed for the Bill.”
