Cabinet approves child protection Bills

Cabinet on Tuesday approved two Bills that seek to promote the rights of children as enshrined in the country’s Constitution.

The two are the Child Justice Bill and the Children Amendment Bill.

Presenting the post-Cabinet briefing on Tuesday, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Monica Mutsvangwa said the Child Justice Bill will provide mechanisms to deal with children that are in conflict with the law while the Children Amendment Bill will incorporate provisions of international conventions and treaties that Zimbabwe is signatory to.
