RYAN CAIRNS is the only local professional golfer who managed to make the cut in the three-day R750 000 Sun Sibiya Challenge which ended yesterday at the Mount Edgecombe Country Club in Durban, South Africa. Cairns, who pocketed R8 413, entered the tournament with fellow countrymen Marc Cayeux, Greg Bentley and Mohammad Rauf Mandhu who all had a promising start but because of high scores they failed to make it.

The trio all finished the second round at under-par but could not go through to the money stage as the cut was made at five-under after the two rounds.

Bentley finished at two-under while Mandhu and Cayeux were at level par.
