BULAWAYO hip hop artiste Calvin Nhliziyo is set to celebrate the first anniversary of his album Perfect Balance that produced the hit Bebengakholwa with a concert in the city next week.
Cal_Vin, as Nhliziyo is known, has already landed a deal to remix the hit single Zikhuphani with multi-award winning South African hip-hop artiste Cassper Nyovest.
The Luveve-born rapper said the concert would be a chance for him to increase his fan base and launch his clothing label.
“I’m trying to grow my fan base with this concert and also hopefully my brand. This will be a chance for me to sell my branded t-shirts, caps, bags etc,” Cal_Vin said.
He said his clothing label would be called Grade Street Collection.
“I think I really need to celebrate my achievements so far. These include my video, second album that I’m working on and my clothing line”, said Cal_Vin.
He said Delani Makhalima, Geezy from Harare, Ryan, Noma and P Wonder would be part of the celebrations.
Cal_Vin said his album was released last year on March 14 and has done well on local chart shows.
“The album did well so much that Vault Cosmetics-USA make-up range founder Jackie Mgido sponsored my debut music video for Zikhuphani which is finally out on social media site YouTube,” he said.
“I didn’t want to rush the guys working on my video even though I had a deadline but I’m glad it’s out and on the market.”
The rapper said that he was very grateful that his first video was a success and is targeting five more videos before the end of the year.
He is currently working on his second video with Evans who was in Algeria and Andy Cutter for his next single Grind China.
