CALLS FOR CHESO, NGWAZI GIG

MUSIC revellers are calling for a gig featuring Alick Macheso and Mark Ngwazi.

This follows the success of their albums, Tinosvitswa Nashe  and  Nharo Nezvine Nharo, which are trending.

Sungura fans believe the Macheso-Ngwazi gig will match the Redefined Gig held at the Harare International Conference Centre, which had Winky D, Jah Prayzah and Nutty O.

With the current hype and success Ngwazi is enjoying in the music industry, fans believe the sungura genre has a chance to have a successful gig at the HICC.

The idea of the HICC gig was ignited by the recent exploits by Ngwazi who topped four radio stations over the weekend.

His songs were number one on Diamond FM,  Star FM, National FM and Radio Zimbabwe, where Nyaradzo Yababa toppled Makazvinzwepi by Macheso.

Cheso’s song had been number one for three weeks.

Some of the fans are of the view that the sungura gig should include other artists like Simon Mutambi, Romeo Gasa, Sulumani  Chimbetu and Peter Moyo.

When asked by H-Metro to comment on the possible gig, Ngwazi said he would not reject what the fans want.

“Music fans are the ones who made us who we are today. They are the ones who give us the money to earn a living.

“We cannot reject their requests because we serve them.

“I am free to perform with any sungura artist because I want sungura to keep on making waves in showbiz,” said Mark.
