SIMBA Bhora will take inspiration from their spirited fight against leaders Dynamos when they take on Yadah Stars at the National Sports Stadium today.
The Shamva-based side are yet to take full points in the Castle Lager Premiership.
However, it’s hard to fault their battling qualities, which has seen them push champions FC Platinum to the limit, lose narrowly to Chicken Inn and hold DeMbare.
They face a different test when they take on the Miracle Boys, who have endured mixed fortunes, in their first three matches.
Yadah Stars have four points out of a possible nine.
Simba Bhora coach, Tonderai Ndiraya, believes their performance against DeMbare has restored confidence in his stable.
“I think getting a point against Dynamos, who are having a flying start to the season, has restored the belief and the confidence of the players,” said Ndiraya.
“In my own view, we have a balanced team and we really needed a confidence-booster.
“You can all agree with me that our opening games were a bit harsh on us, we just have to work a bit harder to gain more confidence,” said Ndiraya.
Simba Bhora are short of options in their offensive unit.
Ishmael Nyanhi and Kudakwashe Mangami were stretchered off the pitch after suffering injuries against Dynamos.
Seasoned forward, Talent Chawapiwa, is still on the recovery path, nursing a thigh injury.
Fans’ favourite, Tinashe “MAswera” Balakasi could get his first start in the PSL, in Simba Bhora’s colours, today.
Balakasi has played second fiddle to the Ghanaian import, Bonifide Abubakar, who is on loan from FC Platinum.
Simba Bhora have scored just once in their opening fixtures.
The goal came courtesy of Ronald Chitiyo in their 1-2 loss at the hands of FC Platinum.
The return of Simbarashe Maramwidze will also give Ndiraya more options upfront.
The striker was excused last weekend to attend his grandfather’s burial in Bindura.
Simba Bhora will face two of their rejects, central defender, Brian Kadamanja and forward, Junior Zingoga.
