Cancer fund raising held

A NUMBER of schools and social soccer teams last week took part in a fund raising gala for children living with cancer that was held at Busters Sports Club.

The event also attracted a number of traders. Schools took part in soccer and theatre productions.

The Kiddies’ Cottage Nursery won the soccer tournament for the kids.

A resident from Manningdale who identified herself at Gurnie said she offered her support to the event as it was for a noble cause.

“When l got the news that l should come and participate by selling my food l was overwhelmed. l was prepared to support this event for children with cancer. l am breast cancer survivor myself and for that l came today to support this event,” she said.

Willy Maseko from Burnside said: “l came here today specially to support this event, children are precious gifts from God .They need our guidance as well as support as parents.”

The Zimbabwe Republic Police also supported the event, their soccer team that took part in the fund raising.
