A 48-year-old man from Southlea Park in Harare who has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancerous tumour is pleading for any form of financial assistance to undergo a life-saving surgery.
A Parirenyatwa Hospital medical report describes Nelson Munyonga’s tumour as an ulcerating tumour that is located in the mid-oesophagus and extending from 25cm to 35cm.
It has caused a 70 percent obstruction of the oesophageal lumen, severely impacting his ability to eat and breathe properly.
Immediate intervention is needed to prevent further complications.
“I request the family of Zimbabwe to help me financially to have the life-saving operation. Doctors said the operation will cost around US$8 000, and I have no means of raising such an amount,” said Munyonga.
He said his condition had reached a critical stage, leaving him with no choice, but to plead for assistance from his countrymen and women.
The cost of the required operation, along with subsequent medical expenses, has created an overwhelming financial burden for him and his family.
Anyone who can assist by contributing to Munyonga’s medical expenses can contact him directly 0781 337 500.
