The firebrand Jamaican entertainer’s heart is hooked on the central Southern African nation, his local handlers told the paper, making a second tour his top priority for the year 2011.
Godfather Templeman, a chief ragga selector who teamed up with Red Rose Entertainment to bring on Capleton, said the musician enjoyed his sojourn in Zimbabwe and even called his first live gig at the Glamis Arena the best of over 50 international tours he undertook last year.
“Performing in front of almost 10 000 screaming fans who sang along to his every song was the best moment of his year. In 2010 alone Capleton did 50 shows worldwide and he swears the Harare show was his best,’’ Templeman testified.
According to Templeman, Capleton extended his jam to three hours, 20 minutes at the Glamis Arena although he had been contracted to play for only two hours. And man, was he lively for all those midnight hours.
At the acquatic complex Capleton kept 3 000 revellers on their feet again for more than two hours. Before going on stage on New Year’s Eve in Harare and New Year’s Day in Chitungwiza, the dude from Jamaica’s St Mary’s parish visited two Rastafari houses, the Dzimba Dzemabwe and Marcus Garvey shrines.-The Sunday Mail
