CAPS UNITED coach Takesure Chiragwi could not come to terms with defeat to struggling TelOne at Ascot yesterday.
An own goal early in the second half was all TelOne needed to hobble past the finishing line and record their second win at home this season.
But for Makepekepe, it was a painful defeat to take, considering that they were the better side the whole afternoon.
This is now Caps United’s second defeat on the trot after losing by an identical scoreline to FC Hunters last weekend.
The result puts Chiragwi under serious pressure at a time when CAPS United have only managed to pick 11 points from their last 10 matches.
But in all fairness, Makepekepe deserved to walk away with a full set of points.
Makepekepe were by far the better side and created more chances than their opponents, but failed to hit the back of the net.
After the final whistle, Chiragwi was at pains to explain how his side had lost.
“We do not deserve what we are getting now in terms of results when you look at how we are performing,” he said.
“You cannot ask for more from the players, to be honest, if you are in control of the match and not scoring, it is very difficult to see where you are getting it wrong.
“It is very difficult to even give you the analysis because we have been doing everything that we are supposed to do.”
TelOne coach, Saul Chaminuka, who is equally under pressure, was elated.
“After playing so many games at home, this is our second win, I am more than happy; I’m hoping it brings more confidence to the players when we go away,” said Chaminuka.
