CAPS United’s woes continued unabated after their players boycotted training for a second successive week.
Makepekepe are due to face Herentals in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at the National Sports Stadium tomorrow.
And, just like they did in the run-up to last Sunday’s 2-1 loss to Highlanders, the Green Machine players stayed away from the training ground.
They are accusing the club’s executive of making empty promises about when they will be paid their overdue wages.
CAPS United had invited the media to an open training session in Marlborough, around midday, probably hoping the players would turn up.
But, the training ground was deserted and hours after the scheduled open training session, there was still no movement.
Sources said the technical team turned up, but not a single player came.
“The players didn’t come for training.
“There are chances that if they are not given their money, they will not pitch up for the game against Herentals,” said the source.
CAPS United CEO, Charlie Jones, for comment, asked H-Metro to call him later.
“I am driving right now, call me after five minutes.
“ I will be able to discuss that with you later as I have to find a parking bay at the moment,” said Jones.
Attempts to reach him later were all fruitless, as he was no longer answering his phone.
