HARARE giants CAPS United and police side Black Mambas got a big boost last night when they received buses from Nyaradzo Funeral Group in an exciting new deal that is set to benefit four other Premiership clubs. Nyaradzo Group, who have sponsored coaches across and the national team previously, yesterday sought to broaden their involvement in football when they unveiled the partnership dubbed “The Score Pack Plan” with the clubs.
CAPS United and Mambas were handed new 30-seater buses yesterday as part of the deal while reigning champions Dynamos and Bulawayo giants Highlanders, who are the current log leaders, are set to get their buses once they have been delivered.
The two buses given out yesterday were initially brought into the country for DeMbare and Bosso but the two giants felt that, as the biggest brands in domestic football with a huge following, they deserved bigger buses.
Those bigger coaches have now been ordered and are on their way to Zimbabwe.
Negotiations are still taking place with army sides Buffaloes and Black Rhinos who might soon be added to the beneficiaries of the scheme.
Under the package, the teams will also benefit financially from the commissions they are set to receive from the premiums collected from their officials and supporters who subscribe for funeral cover with the Nyaradzo Group. The company also promised free funeral assurance cover for 50 members of the club who include current and former players.
CAPS United chief executive, Joe Makuvire, yesterday welcomed the development and said Nyaradzo Group have made a big investment that needs to be complimented.
Makuvire said the relationship will benefit both sides and urged their supporters to invest with Nyaradzo since the more the supporters that get insured with the company, the bigger the rewards for the team in terms of commissions.
“It’s something we really appreciate as a club. We really understand the intricacy of the nature of our economy and to find a corporate partner who is willing to invest in football is flattering and humbling,” said Makuvire.
“We are very grateful to Nyaradzo Group and we hope they will find great value in associating with CAPS United.
“As a club and supporters we would need to repay them in full by getting results on the field of play and also to mobilise each other to subscribe to the services offered by the sponsors.
“It’s up to us to show that we are a valuable institution that can be trusted with big investment.”
Nyaradzo Group chief executive, Philip Mataranyika, said the ‘Score Pack Plan’ is a product designed “not only to address some of the financial challenges faced by football clubs in running their affairs but also provide free funeral assurance cover to the football clubs’ current and former players.”
Mataranyika said Nyaradzo are confident that the clubs will use the scheme as one of the solutions to the perennial financial challenges faced by the domestic football. The package is also set to offer footballers and supporters alike decent funeral cover.
