CAPS United are set to start their pre-season in earnest by going into a training camp over the weekend.
Makepekepe will go into the two-day camp before kicking off pre-season training next Monday.
This shows that the club wants to put last year’s miserable season behind them.
They struggled from the beginning of the season and even started pre-season without a coach.
When Lloyd Chitembwe joined, the club was plagued by a number of industrial actions by the players for non-payment of salaries.
The non-payment of salaries and subsequent strikes saw the team battling relegation for the better part of the season.
The club leadership resorted to sacking those they accused of leading the revolt, Dennis Dauda, Clive Augusto, Ronald Chitiyo and Simbarashe Chinani.
CAPS United only survived the chop by picking up points in the last games of the season. In this transfer window, the club has so far signed former Dynamos defender, Godknows Murwira, on a two-year deal.
But they lost Diago Makurumidze to new boys Sheasham from Shurugwi.
It’s not clear if chief striker, Wiliam Manondo, will stay with the club after being linked with a foreign move.
Manondo, who was the second runner-up in the Castle Lager Soccer Stars of the Year, also took the golden boot award after finishing last season with 16 goals.
