South Africa-based trio CARDINAL X25 left Gwanda audiences clamouring for more after they delivered a vibrant debut live performance that showcased their digitally driven sound and stage presence.
The group’s performance at Phoenix Tshisanyama was complemented by standout appearances from Harare-based Kae Chaps and Gwanda’s poster boy Zhezhingtons, who both brought their A-game to an oversubscribed show.
Buoyed by the positive reception, Cardinal X25 are now set to bring their act to Bulawayo before performing in Beitbridge as the summer party season gathers momentum, with organisers saying the bookings were driven largely by public demand.
On Saturday, the “Anginayo Imali” hitmakers will headline a show at a local leisure spot in Bulawayo, where they will be supported by “Stonyeni” hitmaker Jah Signal and Zhezhingtons. The event will be hosted by MC Freddy K, MC Kay One and Mr Jaiva, while DJs Ayaxx, Flexxy, SKB and Riggs will keep the decks spinning.
The trio will then head to Beitbridge for a show dubbed Summer Fest, where they will share the stage with Seh Calaz, Ndunge Yut, TK Mari, Vibe Masters, Limpopo Pogba, Uncle Teddy, MC Kay One, DJ Vic Gee and DJ TNT.
One of the organisers, DJ Keitho, said the entertainment programme would increasingly be shaped by audience requests as the festive season approaches.
“We’re heading to the festive season so it’s time to party hard. Across all our establishments in Bulawayo, Gwanda and Beitbridge, we’ve been listening to what our followers want and working hard to ensure we give them exactly that and more.
“In doing that, as always, we give a chance to local acts as seen with Zhezhingtons set for a Bulawayo debut this year,” said DJ Keitho.
The move, he said, was part of efforts to ensure that local talent continues to benefit from the growing entertainment circuit while giving audiences the acts they want to see. – Follow on X: @mthabisi_mthire
