SOUTH African gospel outfit Spirit of Praise (SOP) has released Mmeli Wami, a song performed by Her Royal Highness (HRH) Nothando Hlophe, ahead of the ensemble’s much-anticipated return to Bulawayo next month.
The song is a prayer of faith, gratitude and dependence on God, with lyrics expressing a believer’s desire for divine guidance, protection and comfort amid life’s challenges.

Mmeli Wami is the second single released ahead of the launch of the ensemble’s forthcoming album, SOP12, scheduled for release on November 13, 2026. It follows Ivangeli Classic, performed by Omega Khunou, Sindi Ntombela, Mpumi Mtsweni and Dumi Mkokstad.
Through the song, Hlophe reflects on God as a Saviour and a source of strength in difficult times. It acknowledges the pain, uncertainty and fear that often accompany life while affirming the importance of trusting God for guidance and protection.
The song also conveys gratitude for God’s faithfulness, celebrating the comfort believers find in His presence as they navigate life’s hardships.
Meanwhile, preparations for the Spirit of Praise 12 Bulawayo tour are at an advanced stage, with the celebrated Gospel ensemble set to perform at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) grounds on November 22.
The concert follows the group’s well-received performance in Bulawayo last year and is expected to attract gospel music lovers eager to experience its renowned live performances.

The line-up features an array of South African gospel musicians, including Xola Toto, Nothando Hlophe, Mpumi Mtsweni, Sindi Ntombela, Ziyanda Tshangana, Takie Ndou, Omega Khunou, Dumi Mkokstad, Everton Mlalazi and Pastor Mthunzi Namba.
Organisers are expected to announce the local artistes who will join the line-up in the coming days.
The ensemble’s return follows last year’s successful Bulawayo concert, which drew gospel enthusiasts and underscored the city’s appetite for large-scale live gospel productions.
