Comedian Carl Joshua Ncube is still waiting for a response from the Guinness Book of World Records on his attempt to beat the world record for the Most Comedy shows in a week.

Ncube in August this year went around the country and South Africa to stage 31 shows in a week all in a bid to beat the record currently held by Australian comedian — Mark Murphy.

The record was set in 2007 when Murphy staged 30 gigs at 30 venues in seven days all over Australia.

After staging his 31st show in Victoria Falls, Ncube gathered footage of all his shows and submitted it to the Guinness Book of World Records for adjudication.

However, four months later, Ncube is still waiting to learn of his fate from the international organisation.

“I’m still waiting for the feedback from the Guinness team. I sent my content for consideration and they’d said the process could take long sometimes.

“So I just have to be patient and cross my fingers that I made it into the Guinness Book of World Records,” said Ncube.

For now, Ncube is preparing for his annual comedy show at Nesbitt Castle in Bulawayo on December 27.
