Cassper looks to Zim for next effort

WHILE his most recent hit Tito Mboweni has shown his almost effortless ability to dominate charts around southern Africa at a whim, South African Cassper Nyovest will be relying on the genius of Zimbabwean keyboardist Almonte aï¿½?Alie Keyzaï¿½? Mthombeni to fire up his third album.

Nyovest has been on a victory lap in the last week after release of the first single from his upcoming album, Thuto, which is set for release on 7 May.

The single went straight to the top of the iTunes charts in South Africa, while it landed on number two in Zambia and Zimbabwe and number 11 in Namibia.

Amidst celebrations on social media, Nyovest took time to give a nod to Alie Keyz, who has been credited as the behind the scenes genius responsible for Nyovestaï¿½ï¿½s success.

After a fan tweeted how highly they regarded Alie Keyz, Nyovest said that they would hear more of his magical fingers on the keyboard from his latest offering.

The Cowdray Park bred Alie Keys initially won acclaim as Nyovestaï¿½ï¿½s producer and keyboardist, but his role has grown within Nyovestaï¿½ï¿½s camp in the last few years.

He was a Nyovestaï¿½ï¿½s right hand man and musical director for his record shattering Fill up Orlando Stadium and Fill up the Dome gigs.
