SOUTH Africa’s hip hop sensation Cassper Nyovest is scheduled to perform in Bulawayo next month with Winky D, Soul Jah Luv, Cal_Vin and tribal house group DJs Djembe Monks.
The multi-award winning rapper’s debut show in Bulawayo has been pencilled for Hartsfield Rugby Grounds on April 25. It will be his second performance in the country after a successful show in Harare last month.
One of the promoters of the show DJ Dee Nosh said the Phumakim’ hit-maker was expected in Bulawayo on the day of the show.
“Nyovest arrives on the morning of the event with his crew. He will hopefully go around the city to promote the show and meet fans. Preparations for the event are at an advanced stage and everything is going according to plan,” Dee Nosh said.
The promoter said they had partnered with Chipaz and 3D Events to promote hip hop in Bulawayo.
“We know music lovers in Bulawayo have been clamouring for Cassper Nyovest to perform in the city hence this show.
“Bulawayo, from our findings has the biggest following of hip hop music in the country and with its proximity to South Africa, Cassper Nyovest is ideal for them,” he said.
Dee Nosh said tickets would be available at the gates on the day of the show.
“Tickets will range between $10 and $15 and will be available at the gates. We expect more than the 2,000 fans who attended his Harare show,” he said.
The DJ said they were still scouting for more supporting acts from Bulawayo.
The show will be a platform for fast-rising hip hop artiste Cal_Vin to share the stage and further network with Cassper who showed interest in remixing Cal_Vin’s Zikhupani track.
