THE countdown is officially on.
Smoke, sound, and celebration are set to collide at Madziro Leisure Centre this weekend as it plays host to the Castle Lager Braai Festival tomorrow.
The festival is already generating buzz across Manicaland and beyond as two of the country’s finest musicians, Killer T and ExQ will headline the day-long event.
Their long-awaited joint performance is expected to draw massive crowds, especially on their collaboration “Vanoreva Nhema”, as they are set to deliver a high-energy concert experience.
Known for hosting weddings, parties, and community events, Madziro Leisure Centre is now taking things up a notch with this large-scale festival.
The sprawling outdoor grounds are set to be transformed into a vibrant festival village, filled with the aroma of sizzling braai meat, the beat of pounding music, and the clink of cold beers under the summer sky.
Organisers have pulled out all the stops for this debut edition, promising a seamless blend of food, music, and fun.
Festival-goers can look forward to braai competitions, ice-cold beer tents, VIP chill zones, and non-stop entertainment from some of the country’s top DJs and performers.
Killer T, who is a Zimdancehall heavyweight, is beloved for his raw lyrical style and streetwise anthems like “Takangodaro”, “Kana Ndanyura” and “Hondo.”
Known for commanding the stage with both fire and finesse, Killer T brings a contagious energy that keeps crowds moving from the first note to the last.
Joining him is ExQ, a household name in Zimbabwean music, thanks to a hit-laden career spanning over a decade.
From smooth Afro-fusion ballads like “Pahukama” to urban party starters like “Secure the Bag” and his latest release, “Hatichachema”, the silky-voiced singer is expected to bring a dose of harmony and flair to the festival’s musical feast.
Together, the duo strikes a balance of grit and groove, promising a performance that speaks to both the heart and the hips.

On the decks, popular DJs, Irvinix and Tamuka, will bring the heat with genre-spanning sets designed to keep the vibe alive between live acts.
Both known for their crowd-pleasing mixes and polished stage presence, the two are expected to deliver sets that reflect the energy of the night.
Their back-to-back performance at Madziro’s first major concert stage is already being hyped as a standout moment of the evening.
The organisers have been holding micro braais across the country’s all 10 cities before the major national event to be held The Castle Lager National Braai Festival set for October 18 at the Glamis Arena in Harare.
Venue owner, Blessing Madziro said he is excited with the development.
“For years the place has been a place for family gatherings, weddings, and community events.
“But we always knew that it had the potential to host something bigger, something that brings people together on a much larger scale. The Beer and Braai Festival is the realisation of that dream,” he said.
He added: “We worked hard to create a space that is both welcoming and vibrant.
From upgrading our facilities to working with top promoters and securing an excellent lineup, everything has been carefully planned to give people a premium experience.
“We want our guests to feel like they are part of something special — not just watching a show, but becoming part of a festival culture that we hope to grow year after year.”
