PRESIDENT Mugabe yesterday officially launched the Matabeleland North Community Share Ownership Trust/Scheme with mining companies operating in the province coming up with a combined $16,5 million in pledges for community development.

The companies, which include Hwange Colliery Company, Makomo Resources, Chibondo Mine, South Mining, Hwange Coal Gassification, China Sunlight Africa, Pretoria Portland Cement (PPC), Liberation Mining and New Dawn Mining agreed to cede 10 percent shares to the communities they are operating in.
