Businessman faces extortion charges
Court ReporterTHE owner of ABC Driving School, Musa Joseph Adams, appeared in court yesterday facing charges of extortion and was remanded out of custody on $300 bail to 21 March.
Adams (58), of number 65 Main Street, pleaded not guilty to the charge before Bulawayo provincial magistrate Mrs Vivian Ndlovu.
It is his defence that this is a civil matter and as such should be taken to the Civil Court.
Man gets 20 years for raping niece
Court ReporterA 16-year-old girl is now a mother of a six-month-old baby, a result of sexual abuse by her uncle.
The girl testified before Bulawayo regional magistrate Mrs Judith Zuyu that her uncle started abusing her when she was in Grade Three.
The abuse took place in a Bulawayo suburb.
Twenty-one fruit trees planted at Milton High
Chronicle ReporterMBIRA Tours and Safaris in conjunction with the Forestry Commission and Miss Zim Environment have planted trees at Milton High School in Bulawayo.
A total of 21 fruit trees which included lemon, avocado, paw paw and guava trees were planted on Monday.
Forestry Commission district co-ordinator for Bulawayo, Umguza and Tsholotsho, Mr Charles Mashingaidze, demonstrated how to plant trees and take care of them to the Milton boys.

The young and single prophet, Apostle Ronald Matusi of Transfiguration Zone International Ministries, commands a congregation of over 1 500.
His church has a wide range of congregants, both young and old. The church has been in existence for a year with branches in Bulawayo, Masvingo and Zvishavane being established.
