ZANU PF candidate, Cde Portia Gwinyai romped to victory in yesterday’s Mutare Municipality by-election after gunning 760 votes ahead of independent candidate, Mr Innocent Mandava who attained 426 votes.
Mr Farai Arurtura got 95 votes, while MDC’s Mr Edward Mukambura managed 76 votes.
The seat fell vacant following the passing on of Councillor Tichaenzana Maita last month.
