President calls for accelerated tree-planting

PRESIDENT Mugabe yesterday called for an accelerated tree-planting programme in the country to mitigate the effects of climate change.
The President made the call when he planted this year’s national tree, the sausage tree, at Bulawayo’s Milton High School to mark National Tree Planting Day.
President Mugabe, who had a tight schedule in the city, planted the tree before commissioning the NetOne Broadband and the NetOne Ascot Mobile Switching Centre and Packet Switch Call.
After that, he officially opened the RG Mugabe Photographic Exhibition at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair grounds, which captures his and other nationalists’ liberation history.
