PRESIDENT Mugabe says there should be a meeting of the highest decision-making bodies in Zanu-PF and the two MDC formations ahead of national elections scheduled for next year.
This, he said, would ensure the polls are held in a peaceful and conducive environment.
The Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces has indicated the polls will be held not later than March next year.
Addressing the 86th Ordinary Session of the Zanu-PF Central Committee in Harare yesterday, President Mugabe said the party’s Central Committee should meet with equivalent bodies in the MDC formations now that the country was heading for elections.
