Catholic University launches Manicaland campus

THE Catholic University of Zimbabwe will tonight (Friday) hold a dinner dance at the Golden Peacock Hotel in Mutare as the institution launches its Manicaland satellite campus.

Super star Oliver ’Tuku’ Mtukudzi who last week celebrated his 40-years in the music industry will be the guest entertainer for the event.

Spokesperson for the event Mr Albert Dhafana said the occasion would officially launch its Manicaland satellite sites which have however been operational since April 2014.

“The Catholic University of Zimbabwe opened its Mutare campus in April 2014. “The pioneering class for the campus was the Bachelor of Arts Dual (Hons) degree. The opening of this campus was one of the many ways in which the University aims at expanding the institution and growing student numbers, in line with its vision of being the University of choice for holistic education in a Christian setting. This is also in line with our 2013-2022 strategic growth plans,” said Mr Dhafana.

Established in 1999 the University in 2014 extended its reach by opening three satellite campuses in Bulawayo, Chinhoyi and Mutare.

The Catholic University in Mutare is located at the Diocesan Training Centre, in Chikanga 2. Mr Dhafana added that the dinner dance would cost $50 per couple and was open to all.

“After the formal business Tuku will perform to put the icing on the cake of an evening we anticipate will be perfect. We urge those that want to experience the superstar up-close and personal to make the most of this opportunity,” he said.
