Catholics celebrate 50 years in Chipinge

HUNDREDS of Catholics from all walks of life last Saturday thronged St James Catholic Church in Chipinge to celebrate 50 years of the church’s existence in the district. Speaking during the celebrations, Bishop Alexio Muchabaiwa said their main aim is the fellowship of Catholicism. During the event Bishop Muchabaiwa handed certificates of competence to more than 100 church members.

He said the Catholic church is determined to bring development in the district. “Chipinge is now becoming the hub of catholic since 1980 when the country got independence. As the church, we want to thank God with the success we made so far in Chipinge. “We are going to build many schools, churches and hospitals in Chipinge,” he said
