CBZ to launch prepaid MasterCard

MasterCard Prepaid services will enable Zimbabweans to shop online across various platforms worldwide.
CBZ Bank executive director Collin Chimutsa said the initiative was part of the bank’s efforts to broaden its services.

Currently, CBZ offers Visa services, which it introduced in 2010.
MasterCard services also enable local financial institutions to advertise online, as well as access leading merchants around the world.

Local traders and entrepreneurs who have depended on telegraphic transfers and other cumbersome payment options would now be able to shop online.

Bankers say the world was moving towards a cashless economy, and plastic money has become more prominent. The risks of cyber crimes are, however, high. — New Ziana.
